STANDARD OF IYT COURSES
Theory and practical courses of IYT have been audited and approved for content by the British Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands, the United States Coastguard. Marshall Islands Yacht Registry and several others. IYT bareboat Skipper certificate is recognized by all major yacht chartering companies around the world.
Compliance with the STCW convention for Basic Safety Training, a strong quality management system, professional maritime instructors and stringent auditing requirements coupled with insistence on completion of all aspects of the training courses ensures a well-qualified individual trained to the highest levels of professional international standards.
Course "BAREBOAT SKIPPER"
Duration: 2 weeks
Schedule of the training day:
Theoretical classes - 3 hours (9:00 to 12:00)
Lunch Break - 1 hour (12:00 - 13:00)
Practical lessons - 5 hours (13:00 to 18:00)
Self-study lesson - after 18:00
Free time to relax
Format of training:
Theoretical and practical lessons with an instructor, self-study in your free time (class book), knowledge assessment checklist.
Exam:
Examination cards (theory), navigation tasks, checking skills (mooring, sails work, man overboard)
Additionally:
During training, the captain - coach takes into account your personal qualities: speed of reaction, an ability to make the right decision and to work in a team, to lead the crew, an accuracy on the board, a desire to learn, awareness actions, responsibility for the safety of the crew.
